Are you a confident licensing professional with a passion for educational content and global markets? Pearson is seeking a Licensing Manager to support the licensing of our renowned K12 and Higher Education content across selected international territories.

In this flexible, part-time fixed-term role, you’ll play a key role in maximizing the value of Pearson-owned intellectual property—developing global partnerships, negotiating deals, and helping to bring our content to more learners around the world.

Location: United Kingdom / Remote

Contract Type: Fixed Term – 9 Months

Schedule: Part-Time (3 Days Per Week)

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Deliver Licensing Revenue: Achieve sales targets for Pearson Schools and select Higher Ed content across key international markets.

• Negotiate and Close Deals: Manage the end-to-end rights licensing process—from evaluating opportunities to finalizing contracts.

• Rights Management: Use Salesforce and IPM to check rights availability, grant options, manage contracts, and maintain accurate records.

• Build and Maintain Partnerships: Develop strong relationships with international licensees and identify new opportunities through events, fairs, and market research.

• Customer Engagement: Respond promptly to customer queries, share review materials, and ensure stakeholders are fully informed of available licensing content.

• Copyright Support: Process permission requests, raise invoices, and liaise with royalty teams to ensure accurate payments and contract compliance.

• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with editorial, marketing, and legal teams to support new content launches and ensure alignment with distribution strategies.

• Industry Representation: Represent Pearson at key industry events such as book fairs and licensing exhibitions.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

• Proven experience in rights sales, particularly in K12 or Higher Education publishing.

• Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.

• Confident user of rights databases and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent administrative skills.

• Proactive, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

• A-level or degree-level education.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of copyright law and current licensing practices.

• Formal rights training (e.g. “Selling Rights” course).

• Fluency in an additional language.

• Experience working across international markets.
